Take your students on Virtual Field Trips

Take your students on Virtual Field Trips to some of Australia’s most amazing agricultural properties. Immerse your students into a new and exciting Virtual Reality Learning Environment” environment, to increase engagement and learning outcomes.

FarmVR has aligned a lot of our experiences with the Agricultural curriculum and is working with PIEFA and primezone.edu.au to ensure that we develop rich engaging educational VR content for you to use.

How it Works

Using FarmVR in your classroom

FarmVR App

We recommend that you download and install the FarmVR App onto your your Smartphone. You can then engage in the FarmVR experiences and determine which experiences you would consider using in the classroom to complement your lesson delivery plan. Typically an experience is 3-4 minutes long. Each experience can be accessed via the menu within the FarmVR App.

FarmVR Web Experience

There are also some FarmVR experiences available to be viewed on this website. You can view them on your computer or mobile device. Please note that the FarmVR experiences have been designed to be a Virtual Reality experience and viewed using a VR headset, however our technology allows you to view them in what is know as “single VR mode”. You will be required to either use your mouse to move within the experience or moving your Smartphone around you. By watching the Web VR Experiences, you will get a get a feel for the type of VR content that is available.

I am ready to use farmVR in my classroom, what next?
To effectively use FarmVR in your classroom, it is recommended that you have a least one VR headset or Google Cardboard for every two students. That way they can pair up if required. You would also need to determine where they BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) or you supply these to them. The FarmVR App can be downloaded onto their SmartPhone and you would then guide them to find the experience you want them to watch

Do you have lesson plans available?
FarmVR is currently working with PEIFA (Primezone – www.primezone.edu.au) to integrate our FarmVR into lesson plans – watch this space. However in the meantime, here is an example of a Lesson Plan that we created with Urrbrae Agricultural School.
